University preparing PhD school
A dedicated PhD school will vastly improve learning environment, says researcher

Fróðskaparsetrið, the University of the Faroe Islands, has begun preparations for a PhD school.
The university has seen a rapid increase in demand for research-based education in recent years, and the time has come to add more structure to PhD programmes.
“A dedicated PhD school ensures that students have the right framework for completing a high-quality PhD degree,” says Magni Mohr, deputy vice-chancellor at the University of the Faroe Islands.
Work began on the PhD school some 18 months ago, and the school is expected to be taken into use this summer.
