More than 100 tourists from 24 countries yesterday started repairing roads and landmarks in ten locations spread across eight islands.

This is part of the fifth annual Closed for Maintenance, a three-day nature preservation project which seeks to ensure that roads, footpaths, landmarks, etc. are ready for another busy tourist season.

Participants pay their own travel expenses but are offered free food and accommodation.
