For the second consecutive year, NATO vessels will be entering Faroese waters as part of the annual Dynamic Mongoose warfare drill.
The objective is to display and strengthen NATO’s ability to counter threats from submarines travelling from the far north.
A total of 14 ships, four submarines and six aircraft are taking place in this year’s drill. They are from the US, the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Canada, France and the Faroes.
No exercises will be conducted near Faroese land, but some ships may dock in Faroese ports during the 14-day exercise, according to the Faroese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
