Happy Flag Day

Fámjin, the Suðuroy village where the Faroese flag was first raised in 1919, will host flag day celebrations today, starting at 2pm.

In Vágur, Suðuroy, celebrations begin at 3.30pm. The Tórshavn event starts at 3pm.

Fuglafjørður’s celebrations begin at 2pm, featuring the local brass band and scouts.

Runavík’s ‘Skótahúsið við Løkin’ will host an event starting at 2pm. Speaker of Parliament Bjørt Samuelsen will deliver a speech, followed by a scout procession with music performed by the local music society.

Skála’s event starts at 4.30pm at the boat basin where justice and integration minister will give a speech. Celebrations in nearby Strendur start at 5pm.
