The Faroese men’s national handball team has qualified for its first ever European championships despite losing to Austria

Austria enjoyed a relatively easy 38-33 win against the Faroes yesterday.
In the end, the Faroes came out as the second-best third-ranked team in the qualifiers, which was enough to secure qualification.
It was a close call as Ukraine was inching toward an eight-goal win against Romania, which would have knocked the Faroes off the third spot in the group.
