Faroes to host Island Games in 2027
More than 3,000 athletes from 24 island communities will travel to the Faroes to compete in the 20th Island Games

At the Island Games in Guernsey this summer, it was decided that the Faroes would host the games in 2031.
Ynis Môn was supposed to host the 2027 games, but the Welsh island has now withdrawn its bid to host the games.
The Faroes were invited to step in to host the 2027 games, and the Faroese sports federation accepted the offer.
The Faroes hosted the Island Games in 1989.
