Lower tax rates in six municipalities

The following six municipalities have lowered their council taxes this year, according to tax authority TAKS:

- Eystur kommuna: from 20.50% to 19.90%.

- Sunda kommuna: from 21.50% to 20.95%.

- Vestmanna kommuna: from 21.25% to 21.15%.

- Vága kommuna (Vágar): from 21.75% to 21.50%.

- Hvalbiar kommuna: from 20.60% to 21.50%

- Vágs kommuna (Suðuroy): from 21.30% to 21.10%

The average council tax rate drops from 20.08% in 2023 to 20.02% in 2024.

Twelve municipalities have increased their child allowance for 2024. Fugloy now has the highest child allowance, at DKK 10,000. Kvívík has the lowest, at DKK 5,100.
