Number of women in fertility treatment doubles in a decade

Sixty Faroese women sought fertility treatment in 2023.

This is the highest annual number to date, more than twice as high as in 2014.

These figures represent women in treatment, although the women are often accompanied by their male partners.

Among the many conditions for receiving publicly funded fertility treatment are that the couple has been living together in a committed relationship for at least two years.
