Landsverk (The Faroese Road Authority) is working on a project to build a care home for young people with autism.

The project has now reached a stage at which planning work is being put out for legal tender, with a submission deadline of 18 July.

The 1,000 sq m care home will consist of six flats, six respite spaces, an activity unit for 15 people and a staff unit.

Children and teenagers with autism who live with their parents will also have access to the activity unit.

Landsverk writes in a press release that the main objective of the new care home is that residents feel at home in a safe environment at all times.
