Culture minister resigns

The Prime Minister has dismissed Rigmor Dam as culture minister following her resignation yesterday. Dam’s resignation comes in the wake of the Glasir building scandal.

In a press release, she says that that her confidence in Landsverk, which oversaw the construction, is gone now that it appears there will be further bills to pay.

These are bills which, according to Dam, Landsverk only informed the Ministry of Culture about earlier this month.

She adds that the Ministry of Culture has adhered to all points in the cooperation agreement. She is now calling for a review of public construction projects so that scandals like this one can be avoided in the future.
