Sambandsflokkurin (the Union Party), Fólkaflokkurin (the People’s Party) and Miðflokkurin (the Central Party) were hoping to conclude their coalition talks yesterday.
There appears to be agreement on a coalition agreement, but the party leaders failed to find agreement on the division of ministries after negotiating until 11pm last night.
No new meeting has yet been announced, but negotiation leader Bárður á Steig Nielsen of Sambandsflokkurin said last night that the three parties remain hopeful of reaching an agreement over the next few days.
