New health minister and former prime minister Kaj Leo Holm Johannesen has set out to implement a waiting time guarantee system for the national health service.

Waiting times vary across the country’s different health units, and in some cases people are kept waiting for years, for instance adults seeking an ADHD analysis.

Johannesen wants to ensure that all patients are tended to within 30 days, and if that is not possible, they will be offered treatment in Denmark.

He also wants details on waiting times to be accessible to the public.
