Simpler rules regarding restaurants and pubs

The Ministry of Trade wants the rules regarding restaurants and alcohol licensing to be simplified and updated.

The main objective of the proposal is to make it easier for start-ups in the industry, while also helping the authorities to ensure that the rules are adhered to.

According to the proposal, terms and conditions will vary according to the type of service offered. The aim is to make it easier for authorities to distinguish between restaurants, cafés, pubs, dance halls and cultural venues.

The Hotel and Restaurant Act will also apply to in-store sales at beer breweries.
