Two Faroese football clubs were in action yesterday in the second qualifying round of the Europa League

B36 hosted Turkish side Besiktas in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Europa League yesterday.

The Tórshavn-based club lost 0-2, with Besiktas scoring in the eighth and the 26th minute.

Besiktas took control of the game early on, but in the second half B36 had a few good chances.

The other Faroese team in action yesterday was Gøta/Leirvík-based Víkingur, which had travelled to Georgia to play Torpedi Kutaisi. The Georgian team won 3-0.

The second leg will be played on 2 August.
