Steady decline in unemployment

In June 2018, 495 people – 1.8 percent of the Faroese workforce – were registered as full-time unemployed.

This is 165 fewer than the same month last year.

The figure for May 2018 was 2 percent.

The districts with the lowest unemployment figures are Vágar, Norðstreymoy, Norðoyggjar and Sandoy, where the figure is around 1 percent.

Suðuroy has the highest unemployment figure, at 4.5 percent.
