Sixteen new Covid-19 cases registered yesterday
Sixteen new Covid-19 cases were registered yesterday.
The chief medical officer does not yet know the exact number of tests carried out yesterday, but the long queues indicate that the number may be even higher than on Thursday. This suggests that the total number of positive test results from yesterday’s round of testing will not be announced until this evening at the earliest.
A catering staff member at the Faroe Islands Handball Cup, held last weekend in Vágur, Suðuroy, has tested positive. The four other members of the catering team have tested negative. According to the organisers, the catering team paid close attention to hygiene throughout the event and had little or no direct contact with the children taking part in the event.
