Face masks no longer required on Tórshavn buses

Health authorities have given Tórshavn City Council the green light to suspend the mandatory face mask requirement on its city buses.

This means that with the current Covid infection rates, bus passengers are no longer required to wear a face mask.

The City Council says that the mask requirement may be reintroduced if the infection rate goes up again, in which case a doctor’s certificate will be required for an exemption to wear a mask on the city buses.

This issue was brought up with the health authorities after a complaint from a passenger that there were no exceptions to the mask requirement.

The complaint concerned bus passengers who as a result of not being able to wear face masks for health reasons are left with no comparable form of transport.
