Twenty new Covid cases

Yesterday’s 2,482 Covid tests yielded 20 positive outcomes, reports corona.fo.
One tested positive on arrival from abroad and one in a follow-up test four days after arrival. The other 18 were infected domestically – 16 of these are linked to a known chain of infection, while the infection source of the other two remains unknown.
The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 0, 3, 9, 10, 14, 8 and 20.
There are currently 73 active cases in the country. One person is receiving hospital treatment for Covid-19, and 291 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.
According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated yesterday, 31,781 people (59.6 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 21,811 (40.9 percent) have received the second shot.

Russian ship with infected crew has departed
Russian trawler Karelia, which arrived at the port of Runavík three weeks ago with 32 Covid-infected crew members, has now left the port and is currently fishing in international waters north of the Faroes.
Two of the crew members were hospitalised in Tórshavn and were later transferred to a hospital in Denmark.
