Sixty-eight new Covid cases

Yesterday’s 3,311 Covid tests resulted in 68 positive cases, reports corona.fo.

All infected persons have been notified by the health authorities, and extensive contact tracing is underway.

The daily numbers of positive tests over the past week have been as follows: 26, 38, 89, 78, 99, 65 and 68.

Six people are receiving hospital treatment for Covid, and 599 people are currently listed as being in quarantine.

Those wishing to visit patients at Tórshavn’s National Hospital are now required to call the relevant ward ahead of their visit.

According to the latest vaccination figures on corona.fo, updated today, 39,279 people (73.4 percent of the population) have received the first shot of the vaccine, while 37,597 (70.3 percent) have received the second shot.

Plenty of vaccine doses are available to everyone aged 12 and over.
