Last month, the number of registered employees in the Faroes surpassed 28,000 for the first time

December is usually the month with the highest number of employees.
Last month was no exception, with 28,056 registered employees, which is the highest monthly figure on record, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.
In December 2021, the Faroese labour force consisted of 14,475 male and 13,581 female employees.
This is an increase of about 100 men and just over 200 women compared to December 2020.
