Fourth booster shots only for high-risk groups
The Faroese health authorities have decided not to extend the offer of a fourth Covid vaccine booster shot beyond high-risk groups.
Danish health authorities announced on Saturday that only high-risk groups will be offered a fourth shot and that under-18s will not be offered a third booster shot.
This decision is based on data indicating that despite the current high infection rate, the curve will flatten soon, suggesting that the pandemic is nearing the end.

The Danish health authorities have also looked at how child vaccinations have contributed to herd immunity and disease prevention.
According to the figures, the number of child vaccinations has been less than half of what was expected. Another finding in this assessment is that MIS-C (Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children – an uncommon but serious illness that can occur after Covid infection and affects mostly school-age children – has been more prevalent among unvaccinated children.
