In March, Kalsoy locals erected a gravestone at the site where James Bond was killed in the latest 007 offering ‘No Time to Die’.

Hopes were high for locals and tour operators alike, who expected the publicity from the movie to be a massive boost to the Faroese tourism industry.

The initiative has indeed attracted lots of attention from tourists, but it is proving difficult for them to reach the gravestone site.

The reason is the limited passenger capacity on Klaksvík-Kalsoy ferry 'Sam', resulting in many tourists having to queue in Klaksvík for hours.

“This could become a costly affair for tour operators because we cannot provide the services we sell.”
