Time Magazine recently published its fourth annual list of "extraordinary places to explore", which it calls "The World’s Greatest Places".

The Faroes were among the 100 destinations featured in last year’s list. This year, the list has shrunk to 50, and the Faroes are not included.

Greenland and Denmark featured in last year’s list, and they retain their place this year. Specifically, the magazine recommends Greenland’s second-largest town, Ilulissat, and Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen.

The list is compiled based on recommendations and nominations from the magazine’s article contributors.
