New York route finally confirmed

The national airline announced this time last year that it was planning a direct route between the Faroes and the United States.

After a series of setbacks related to securing the necessary permissions, CEO Johanna á Bergi has now confirmed that the route will be launched this spring.

“This is great news for us,” she told Forbes magazine.

Forbes writes that the new route is likely to significantly increase the number of visitors to the Faroe Islands.
