A better life for children from broken homes
A new association aims to work towards improving the lives of children whose parents live apart

22.01.2020 - 13:01

Børn og Samvera (The National Society of Children and Closeness) will hold its first general meeting tonight.

The society is a sister company of the Danish Børn og Samvær, whose purpose is to work towards ensuring a better life for children with parents who do not live together.

A key principle of Børn og Samvera is child-centred communication, giving the children a voice by encouraging them to talk about their own needs.

Børn og Samvera will also be shedding light on legislation which may have an adverse effect on children from broken homes.

The society’s first general meeting will be held tonight at 7pm in the Havnar Arbeiðarafelag building on Tinghúsvegur 7, Tórshavn.

Members of the public are welcome to attend, and parents are welcome to bring their children, the organisers say.
