Quarantine benefits set to continue
Going into quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure is equivalent to taking sick leave, according to the law
Elsebeth Mercedis Gunnleygsdóttir, the Minister of Social Affairs, has asked Parliament to extend the law on sickness benefits for people who are asked to go into Covid-19 quarantine

Workers in the private labour market who go into quarantine will continue to be eligible for sickness benefits.

The current law, which says Covid quarantine is equivalent to sickness leave, is due to expire on 1 March.

But the Minister of Social Affairs has now requested an extension of this law until 1 February 2022.

The standard daily payout for a person in quarantine is DKK 960.
