Faroese residents accounted for 64 percent of hotel overnight stays in April

Faroese hotels are bouncing back from a big slump caused by the pandemic.
The hotels registered 12,637 overnight stays last month, compared to 1,384 in April 2020. The number for April 2019 was 14,238, which is about 1,600 more than April this year, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.
Steady increase in 2021
There has been a steady increase in the number of hotel overnight stays every month this year. In January, the number was 5,539.
Sixty-four percent of hotel visitors in April were Faroese residents, while 24.6 percent were Danish residents.
