The capital’s district heating system, which receives excess heat from the Sund power plant, now also works in the city’s west end.
There is now a connection from the Sund power plant, northwest of the city, all the way to the junction between Landavegur and Marknagilsvegur, linking about 1,700 new users to the system.
The 1.3 km-long pipeline from the city centre to Landavegur in the west end will be heated gradually, and this is expected to take a few days.
