Finding the true extent of sexual violence

Research into sexual violence has been limited in the Faroes due to a lack of statistics.
“Without proper statistics, it is very difficult to identify and analyse the underlying problems,” says Erling Fles, a psychologist working with Kris, which is a group of volunteers who offer support to victims of sexual violence.
To this end, Kris has set up an online survey.

Many have already taken the survey, but Kris hopes even more people will do it, especially more men as men tend to be more reluctant than women to answer questions on sexual violence.
This is a preliminary survey which will form the basis of future quantitative research.
The survey is available here (in Faroese only).
