Atlantic Airways returns to profits

After a difficult pandemic period, national airline Atlantic Airways last year posted DKK 21 million in profits after tax.
This comes on the back of a DKK 10 million deficit in 2021.
The good result is due to a large increase in passenger numbers and an increase in leasing activities, according to a press release from the airline.

Last year saw 351,000 passengers travelling on the Atlantic route network, which is the highest-ever annual figure. This is an increase of 150,000 passengers from 2021.
About 47 percent of all Atlantic passengers in 2022 were of a non-Faroese background.
When Faroese citizens living abroad are included in the figures, about 55 percent of Atlantic passengers in 2022 resided outside of the Faroes.
