Hospital receives scanner from local firms

A new so-called 3 Tesla MRI scanner is expected to be installed at Klaksvík Hospital soon.

This comes after a series of generous donations from businesses in Klaksvík, Leirvík and Fuglafjørður.

“The new scanner will allow us to treat a lot of conditions that up to now could only be treated by sending patients to Denmark,” says hospital CEO Alexandra á Dul.

“Not only will this save us a lot of money on travel expenses; it will also drastically shorten the waiting list for scans in the Faroes.”
