The European Handball Federation and journalists from across the world will be following tonight’s game between the Faroese and the Ukrainian national men’s handball teams.

One of these journalists is Henrik Braad Jacobsen, sports reporter at Danish newspaper Politiken.

He wants to explain to his readers how a tiny nation like the Faroes can achieve international success in handball.

“I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering how a small nation in which about 2,500 people play handball actively can produce such a competitive national handball team,” he says.

“Perhaps it’s the story of the bumble bee that didn’t know it could fly? Or perhaps it’s simply a miracle? Anyway, that’s what I want to take a closer look at.”

Watch the Faroe-Ukraine game live tonight from 6.15pm to 8.20pm.
