This dog is not welcome in the Faroes

The Old English Bulldog is too aggressive, unpredictable and potentially dangerous.
This is the conclusion by Faroese Food and Veterinary Authority HFS and the complaints board after a dog owner filed a complaint about not being allowed to import one of these dogs.

The complainant says that the HFS website does not mention any import ban for this breed. This is true, say the authorities; however, a government order from 1 October 2021 bans imports of dogs that were originally bred for fighting, hunting or guarding, have an aggressive disposition and are strong. Crossbreeds with these characteristics are also included.
This is the first complaint of its kind since the new government order came into force.
