Unemployment hits all-time low

With 198 full-time unemployed people, the unemployment rate reached an all-time low of 0.6 percent in May, reports Statistics Faroe Islands.
The unemployment rate has been ranging between 0.7 and 0.9 percent this year.
According to unemployment office ALS’s website, 119 people are currently claiming unemployment benefits.

People who are not registered with ALS may apply for benefits from the Department of Social Services when they become unemployed.
The number of people receiving benefits from ALS’s fish factory system stands at 577.
The ALS website currently list 148 job vacancies.
