Danish supermarket chain Coop has recalled two batches of ‘Smag forskellen’ avocados after heightened levels of cadmium were detected in the products.
Faroese food and veterinary authority HFS says that there are no immediate symptoms after eating only one of these avocados; however, repeated consumption is potentially dangerous.
The products have been sold in Faroese stores, and anyone who has bought them is asked to discard them or return them to the store where they were purchased.
The product in question is:
