Student grants go up

Student grants have been increasing for the past few years to account for higher costs of living caused by inflation.

Grants increased by 2.7 percent last year. They went up by 0.3 percent in 2021 and 1.3 percent in 2020.

The 2023-2024 school year will see a significantly higher inflation adjustment as the grants will increase by 7.7 percent.

For example, monthly grants for students in higher education will go from DKK 4,605 to DKK 4,960.

Grants for miðnám or fólkaskúlin students with dependents or who pay for their accommodation will increase from DKK 4,073 to DKK 4,387 per month.
