A boost for local food production

The trade ministry has injected new life into local food initiatives by providing grants to three projects aimed at promoting sustainable local food production.

Klaksvík municipality has been awarded DKK 300,000 to help fund a new trial project involving a school nutrition programme.

DKK 400,000 has been granted to Húsarhaldsskúli Føroya (the Homemaking Academy) and Matkovin for a workshop project that teaches children and adults about sustainability, nutrition, food culture, cooking and the handling of raw materials.

Kambsdalur college receives DKK 50,000 for a project aimed at increasing awareness of local food production.
