The recent proposal by Framsókn (the Progress Party) to delay the fish quota system was regarded by many as a vote of no confidence in the Minister of Fisheries.

But now the coalition party leaders have announced in a press release that Framsókn has withdrawn the proposal.

However, the press release was only signed by the three coalition party leaders and not the two Framsókn MPs who submitted the proposal.

According to the press release, Høgni Hoydal, the Minister of Fisheries, is preparing a proposal regarding bottom fish practices in 2019, including details on administration plans, the fishing day system and quotas.
