Swimming pool work resumes

At tonight’s Tórshavn City Council meeting, DKK 5 million will be approved for the construction of a new swimming pool next to the national football stadium.

The City Council announced in February that the plan to build a 50-metre swimming pool would be postponed for a year to focus efforts on other construction projects in the city. But now the project is back on the agenda.

“Planning will take nine months, and then we will start inviting bids for the construction work,” says Mayor Annika Olsen.

The project is estimated to be completed in late 2021.

According to the mayor, a new swimming pool committee will be appointed at tonight’s meeting.
