Cod and haddock sales up by a third this year
New fisheries figures reveal an increase in sales this year despite a smaller total catch
So far this year, sales of haddock have gone up by about 1,000 tonnes compared with the first three quarters of 2017.

Sales of cod and haddock have increased by a third in the first three quarters of this year, compared to the same period last year, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.

This year’s total sales of cod have gone up by 32.6 percent and haddock by 31.3 percent, compared with the first three quarters of last year.

Coalfish sales have gone down by 15.6 percent.

All in all, the total catch of bottom fish is slightly smaller than last year, but sales have gone up by 5.4 percent.
