The old filleting plant in Miðvágur has been refurbished, and filleting work has now begun after the plant received its first batch of mackerel last night.

Pelagic trawler Katrin Jóhanna landed 300 tonnes of mackerel caught in EU waters.

Snarfrost has made an agreement with Vestmanna Fiskavirki in case Snarfrost’s facilities are insufficient to process the 300 tonnes.

Snarfrost CEO Tummas Henriksen expects there will be steady work at the new plant, which processes pelagic and bottom fish.
