In May, 149 people were on the social services waiting list for affordable housing

Out of the 149 individuals on the waiting list, 21 already live in properties provided by the social services, but they are on the lookout for another dwelling through the social services.
Eyðgunn Samuelsen, the Minister of Social Affairs, says that over the past four years, Almannaverkið (the social services) has provided 62 new places of residence and 18 respite properties.
Almannaverkið continues to expand the number of affordable accommodation. One of its latest efforts is to rent from a private housing supplier.
