Faroese rower crowned European champion

Sverri Sandberg Nielsen won today’s A final in the single sculls category of the European Rowing Championships, held in Poznan, Poland.

At the halfway point of the 2,000-metre race, Nielsen was in fifth, but he managed to catch up with the leaders, eventually taking the win with a time of 6:50:22 – one second ahead of number two.
