Tighter Covid measures announced

Here are the key points from today’s press conference on the updated Covid guidelines ahead of the Christmas season.
All visitors from abroad are urged to get tested three days prior to departure, get the mandatory test on arrival in the Faroes and then do a follow-up test six days arrival.
Social bubble strategy
Visitors from abroad should follow a so-called social bubble strategy, which means they should stay within their social bubble (i.e. their household) the first days after arrival.
Only after a follow-up test on the sixth day is confirmed negative is it deemed safe to move outside this social bubble and e.g. go shopping.
Christmas shopping
It is recommended that only one person per household takes care of Christmas grocery shopping, ideally during off-peak hours. Face masks are recommended in all crowded environments.
All retail stores should provide hand sanitisers and safety information to customers, while also ensuring an appropriate number of customers inside at all times.
Miscellaneous
Christmas church services will be closed for physical attendance and will instead be streamed live online. All other religious communities are encouraged to adopt similar measures.
All indoor sports events will be held without spectators until 3 January.
Schools and daycare centres are advised to avoid holding large Christmas parties involving parents and other family members.
From 17 December to 3 January, all bars and restaurants should close by 10pm.
No incoming travellers will be allowed access to old people’s homes until a negative result from a sixth-day follow-up test is produced.
No new Covid cases were registered yesterday.
