The men’s national handball team has topped group 4 in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers and is now through the the second qualiying phase.

Things didn’t look great after the first game against Luxembourg, which the Faroese team lost with a score of 26-31.

On Saturday, however, the Faroese players made a brilliant recovery, beating the Italian side by 27 goals to 26.

And yesterday, they topped it off with a 26-19 win against Latvia.

Sensational H71 women

The H71 women’s side beat the odds last week when with a narrow 39-38 away win against Serbian side Naisa Nis in the first leg of their round 4 game in the EHF Cup.

And on Saturday, the H71 side repeated the feat in their second leg at home with an even more convincing winning score of 30-26.

This brings the H71 women into the quarter finals of the EHF Cup, the first time ever that a Faroese handball club has progressed this far in a European tournament.
