Teitur Skoubo was this morning convicted of having raped a 25-year-old woman in Odense, Denmark, in November last year.

The 26-year-old man from Sandoy was given a 30-month prison sentence and was ordered to pay DKK 100,000 in damages to the woman.

Skoubo, who has more than 138,000 Instagram followers, denied the rape charges and immediately appealed the sentence.

He is currently being held in custody as his defence lawyer appealed the court’s decision to run the 30-month jail term immediately. This appeal will be processed on Friday.

Programmes taken off air

Since winning season 15 of popular Danish reality TV show Paradise Hotel in 2019, Skoubo has appeared in numerous other Danish reality shows.

The Paradise Hotel production company announced shortly after the verdict was handed out that all programmes featuring the young Faroese man will no longer be available online.
