More than 300 Covid cases this summer

Some 322 Covid cases were registered in June, July and August, reports news portal vp.fo.
Eighty-six positive tests were registered in June, 179 in July and 57 in the first 22 days of August.
These figures come from the chief medical officer, who regularly contacts infected people to compile information about infection sources, symptoms, etc.

Of the 322 people who tested positive this summer, 33 percent say they have no idea where they were infected. Twenty-four percent say they are not sure how they contracted the virus but mention festivals or parties as likely places of infection.
Twenty-three percent say they were infected by a friend or relative and 20 percent say they were infected abroad.
A total of 35,280 people in the Faroes have tested positive for Covid since the outbreak of Covid-19 in March 2020.
