Witness plea after assault in Tórshavn

A man was assaulted in Tórshavn’s Skálatrøð area next to the Vágsbotnur marina between midnight and 0.30am on Saturday night.

The man, who is in his 70s, was walking back home after having visited relatives when three young men appeared from between cars parked on the Skálatrøð parking area.

Police say the three men started punching and kicking the man but ran away when he started shouting for help. The man headed home and then went to the National Hospital for a checkup.

Police currently have no traces to go by and are asking anyone with relevant information to call them on 114.
