Electricity prices go up

Public energy supplier SEV has just announced that it is increasing its electricity prices for next year.

Prices will go up for all three main client groups. Average households will pay DKK 0.18 more per Kilowatt hour (KWh), and the fixed annual electricity charge will increase by DKK 200.

Private and business clients with an annual consumption of 10,000 KWh or above will be paying DKK 0.22 extra per KWh.

Industrial clients who are covered by the special discount system will be paying an extra DKK 0.28 extra per KWh.

“We had planned a slight increase in electricity prices for 2023 to help fund our vast energy grid expansion,” says Kári Johansen, SEV’s committee chairman.

“But now, after a series of unexpected events such as the war, higher oil prices and inflation, we need to increase our prices further to be able to repay our loans.”
