A glimpse of Christmas in times gone by

If you want to experience Faroese Christmas like it was celebrated in the old days, a trip to Tvøroyri, Suðuroy, might be a good idea.
Five buildings in the city have been transformed into Christmas houses from early last century.
“We wanted to offer visitors the chance to see, hear, smell and feel Christmas in times gone by. We wanted to give them an authentic experience of what Christmas was like in the old days,” says Theresa Thuridardóttir Kreutzmann, one of the organisers of the Christmas exhibition.
The exhibition takes place in the so-called Thomsen buildings, which until this summer housed Tvøroyri’s legendary pub.
